The School Library

Our Library provides a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts that are constantly updated. We provide reading texts for all abilities including more challenging novels from our Ambitious Reads section.

In English at Key Stage 3, students have a timetabled library lesson once a fortnight where students are encouraged to read a wide range of texts and formally discuss and review the material read.

Our Librarian Mrs P McDougall cultivates a warm and welcoming environment where students are able to challenge themselves with the materials available through the interactive displays and the activities on offer.

The Library is famous for its extra-curricular events and activities such as: Harry Potter Night, World Book Day and Carnegie Book Shadowing. Students are rewarded for their commitment to the library with VIP events which have been known to include a tea party on the terrace. Students can also apply for the prestigious role of school librarians.

The Library is available to students before school, at lunchtime and after school.
