Adrian Platts | The Dearne ALC

Why I became a Governor at The Dearne ALC:

  • To ensure the school is led well to deliver the best education standards possible for students
  • To maximise the opportunities for personal growth of students throughout and upon leaving school
  • To provide students with a learning environment that encourages them to use their full potential

I intend to add value to the school curriculum, improve the opportunities of the students attending the school and assist the school in achieving its objectives.  I am committed to the development of cohesive business relationships with local employers to enable students to plan ahead for either further academic learning or work based training and support the leadership team in developing alternative ways of generating income to support the school and its educational provision.

The skills and experience I bring are:

  • Project planning and management
  • Business development and operational management
  • Accounting and payroll control
  • HR and recruitment implementation
  • Purchasing and inventory control experience
  • Health & Safety (NEBOSH certified) management
  • Employability Skills Development

My hopes for The Dearne ALC are:

  • To achieve an ’outstanding’ Ofsted rating
  • That students receive the best possible education through high quality, focused teaching
  • To be recognised as a school that students want to go to and engage in learning at because they feel inspired to
