Why I became a Governor at The Dearne ALC:

to support colleagues who work within the school, to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students and to raise aspirations of young people particularly those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. I want to help positively change people’s future life and chances

The skills and experience I bring are:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Senior Manager and have an MSc in Leadership and Management
  • Experience and skills to manage significant budgets
  • Good communication
  • Member of the Barnsley Safeguarding Children’s Board, the Children’s Trust Board and the Council’s Corporate Parenting Panel
  • HR processes and procedures, previously acted as the LADO
